Well, not a bad stash, but nothing to get too excited about either.  Some chairs, blinds, planters, light sockets, and I suppose some by standards, a nice collection of 78rpm jazz records.  They might’ve been worth something, but I doubt it if someone left them on the curb.

I’m sure some people were thinking this was their lucky day after stumbling onto this collection.  Let’s see- foot massager, golf shoes, encyclopedias, a tire, bench seat from a 70s-80s era truck, and the real treasure: a Cabbage Patch doll.

Free Pile

Lots of good stuff in this one.  USB cable, clothes, some sort of fanzine, and of course, a quality suitcase.  I found a Chris King bike component box (the white one with the red top), but it was empty.  Not sure why they thought someone would want the box.

Broken concrete anybody?

Needless to say, I had no desire to take this, though I’m sure our cats would’ve liked it.

Anyone need a broken lamp?

Including the sawhorses? Somehow I doubt it.

Including the sawhorses? Somehow I doubt it.

A friend of mine noticed all the free stuff you see given away every day on the curbs of America and thought of an art project: take all those signs and create a collage to hang in a gallery.  I took his idea and tweaked it into something a little less larcenous.  Document all that free stuff in pictures on a blog.

The pictures may not be all that artistic or interesting, but we’ll see how it goes.  I’ll also note if I actually take something.  I just have to remember to have my camera available at all times- you never know what’s on the curb around the corner…
